• This May five of the children graduated from high school and are standing now in front of decisions that will shape their future. Please pray for them as they take their first steps as young adults. For some of them graduation means having to leave the orphanage, get a job, or go to University. Whatever the path is we pray they will constantly be reminded of God’s never-ending love for them! Congratulations Imola, Mia, Florin, Marin and Calin we are very proud of you!

  • Many of the orphans are social orphans. That means that they have a mom or a dad or both but at some point in life they realized they couldn’t take care of their children and decided to place them in an orphanage, where they would at least get a warm meal every day! Leo is one of these children. He grew up in the orphanage from the age of 5, (he is 17 now) and in March, he went back to live with his family. His family can barely provide a meal a day but Leo is happier now than he ever has been!

One way this family can provide for themselves is by collecting paper and plastic from the garbage and then they bring everything to a recycling factory where they receive some money. Some days they work for nothing more than a loaf of bread! They use a horse and a cart for this. This winter their horse died so with the horse they also lost a way make a living.

God is good, and as soon as Katie and Karen spread the news about the need, a family donated money for a new horse. Words cannot describe the joy that was brought to this family! Thank you !

  • Many new faces have come to the Balauseri home this spring as some of the older children transitioned to independent living outside the home. Corina who is a 9 year old girl and the siblings Denes and Joji who are 9 and 5 years old!

  • Over the last months many children celebrated their birthdays, each birthday party was unique but they were all a lot of fun!
