• Every year, the homes from Sancrai organize an open gate day where they invited local officials, friends, and family of the children to be part of a day from the lives of the orphans. The orphans work hard to prepare for this special day. The older children prepared a beautiful gypsy dance celebrating their origins.

It was such a blast to see the children—young and old— perform and have fun on their special day! Open Gates Day also meant that we all got to visit each of the 11 homes, have lunch, and chat with the families! We got to see what a day looks like in the homes! The children were so sweet inviting everybody to their home and being perfect hosts, offering cold beverages and food to those who came to visit.

  • Over the past year, we remained involved in the lives of Leo and Mia, two of the graduates, by bringing food and clothing to them and their families on a regular basis. Leo and his family make their living by picking trough garbage for plastic containers that they collect and take to a recycle station. They make little money by doing this, so any help is welcome.

Mia got engaged this spring and moved in with her fiancé and his family. She is learning to take care of chickens and ducks, and to plant and take care of her garden that will provide some food for them over the winter months. She was so proud of her work when she showed us around her garden.

Helping them with some of their physical needs keeps a door open for us to encourage them on a spiritual level. Our desire is to see this circle of abandonment stopped, and for this generation of orphans to understand that they can be more and do batter than their parents before them!

  • Birthdays are a great opportunity to have fun, be with friends and of course eat cake! This is also a great time to remind the children that they have been created by a loving God who loves and has a plan for them wherever they may find themselves.

  • We had an AMAZING week at camp Lunca Bradului with our friends from Atlanta! Thank you to all of you who prayed and held us close in your hearts while we were there! We were able to touch the lives of 70 orphan children from Mures county. The children had so much fun attending all the activities planned for them by the U.S. and Romanian teams. The good news was spread and we could see the Lord moving in the lives of the children in a mighty way! The children anxiously look forward to camp 2013, as summer camps are one of the biggest highlights of their year!

If you would like to be part of a summer camp mission team or would like to help send an orphan to a summer camp, please contact us on our contact page!

  • Simona, Sergiu and Ana Maria graduated from high school in May, surrounded by friends, family, and many flowers on their special day. Congratulations to all of them!

Please keep them in your prayers as they are only a few steps away from independent living, and this is a big step for each one of them!
